Life in Store

At Whittard of Chelsea, we've been curating extraordinary moments through tea, coffee, and hot chocolate since 1886. In our stores, we invite customers to explore a world of flavour, craftsmanship, and discovery that starts with our passionate in-store teams.

Whether you're brewing the perfect sample or sharing your favourite blend, every shift is a chance to create something memorable. You'll play a key role in making every visit feel personal, inspiring customers to explore, taste, and return again.

But don't just take our word for it...

Hear from some of the team

Ty - Sales and Service Manager

"I have been with Whittard of Chelsea for nearly 4 years. During this period, I have developed and moved stores; starting as Deputy Manager in Leeds, then relocating to London where I became Store Manager in various locations. This led to my current Role as Sales and Service Manager at our Flagship store!

I really enjoy how each team member brings something unique about themselves to the role, which they apply to their own style of service. This is what is great about the Whittard store environment; each branch offers something new that can't be replicated due to the make-up of its team working together!"

Gary- Store Manager

"I am proud to work for Whittard of Chelsea for many, many reasons. Top of that list, is that it’s a company that recognises the individual just as much as it does the team or store. They understand that it’s the people who make a business great, whether they are in management or a Sales Advisor role, and they truly value each and every one of them.

The focus on encouraging good mental health in the workplace is second to none. I’ve never worked for a business that puts so much time and effort into supporting people’s well-being. It’s genuinely inspirational.

And finally, the passion and enthusiasm that everyone at Whittard shares for its incredible tea, coffee, and hot chocolate products is so genuine.

One would definitely say it’s an absolutely ‘beau-tea-ful’ place to be"

Rashna - Deputy Manager

“I've been working at Whittard for just over three years, progressing from Sales Advisor to Deputy Manager and now on Secondment as Store Manager.

My favourite part of my role is training the team in store as it allows me to share my knowledge, help them to progress and see them succeed. We receive lots of support in store from colleagues across the business which is one of the things I love about working at Whittard as someone is always there to help.

I'm proud of my store team and creating a culture of respect, growth and collaboration. I enjoy the balance this role gives me where I am able to progress my career whilst studying.”

Home and away scheme

We offer a fabulous Home and Away scheme for our colleagues that wish to continue their journey with us when going to University/College in a different town or city. Working in their 'home' store during their holidays and in their 'away' store during term time.

Spencer

Sales Advisor

''When I started my job I wasn't going to stay with the company for too long because I was starting Uni. the Home and away scheme allows me to work whilst at Uni and earn money to support myself. It also allows me to return to my home store and work during the holidays. It has been a great experience to work with different teams and under different line managers. I'm very happy that I've been able to stay with the company and continue to work with great people."

Gemma

Store Manager

"It is a fantastic scheme for both stores involved. The home and away colleague brings something different to my store, including additional knowledge from the other store. In my case, where the Sales Advisor has experience in both an Outlet and High Street store. It educates the team on customer demographic differences for both our stores and allows best practice sharing across the team. The best thing about it is we get to retain quality colleagues that without the scheme we could potentially lose."

Store advisory Board

The store advisory board is a cross-functional working group, bringing together head office departments such as Marketing, Operations, HR with Store Managers from our Prime, Tourist and Outlet stores. The group aims to find better ways of working, with focuses on productivity, conversion and much, much more...

Alice - Store Manager

"The store advisory board is such an important tool for our Retail Managers. It allows conversations with all different departments and people throughout the business. Each meeting has an understanding that it is a safe space for us to voice our feedback, opinions and ask any questions that we may have. I always come away feeling valued and that my voice matters and with positive feedback to cascade to my team. This ensures that we remain a successful high performing cross functional team!"

Charlotte - Retail Support Manager

"This group has helped me think about store retail operations from a different perspective and how we can improve that for the better. The feedback within the group is open and honest, and has opened my eyes to some of the issues that can be easily resolved. I also love getting insight into new product development and have an input in business wide initiatives. Its brilliant to work with different people and departments outside of my normal team. The Store Advisory Board makes me feel valued and heard!"
